What is SAS Townsville?

Save A Stray Townsville began back in 2016 after our Founders foster cat, Jack, went missing. As she scoured the streets looking for him, she witnessed many strays on our streets trying to survive. So, SAS was born as a stray sighting Facebook Page and has evolved into a educational and desexing program.

Save A Stray Townsville is NOT a rescue or charity. We don’t re home animals but are more than willing to educate on the best way to do this yourself. Please see link below.

Our main aim is to help lost pets (strays) home via raising awareness of straying pets on our FB page and educating on ways to help locate them.

Separate to that, we try to help stem the flow of unwanted litters by offering subsidized desexing. This is solely funded by our founder, Michelle.

As we are not a Charity, we cannot outright ask for donations, which is why we retail merchandise to raise funds. Most items are set up in amounts that would equate to a donation you may wish to make. Eg you want to donate $10, so you would purchase a $10 pen. This is the best way to support us!

We do have accounts at Tropical QLD Cat Clinic in the city and Tropical Vets Northshore under Save A Stray, as these are our chosen Partners we work with.

PLEASE NOTE: We can only help desex if we have the funds to do so!
